Visitors

MIPSE welcomes short or extended visits from student, academic and industrial collaborators. We are happy to facilitate the visit through matching the visitor's interests with research being conducted by MIPSE members. For additional information contact mipse-central@umich.edu.

MIPSE will provide support for U-M faculty and staff who are inviting and hosting long-term visitors to the UM campus.

A recent visit: Abraham Lin

MIPSE was very happy to host Dr. Abraham Lin of the University of Antwerp, Belgium, as our first post-COVID visitor. Dr. Lin is a member of Prof. Annemie Bogaerts' research group, Plasma Lab for Applications in Sustainability and Medicine-Antwerp (PLASMANT). His collaboration with Prof. John Foster is partially funded by the Flanders Research Foundation (FWO) in Belgium.

Based on Abraham’s designs, a dielectric barrier discharge plasma applicator was built and the plasma can be seen generated directly in the plate. This device will be used to test plasma-based viral inactivation on various surfaces.
