16th Annual Graduate Student Symposium, 2025
The 16th Annual MIPSE Graduate Student Symposium will be on December 3, 2025, at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. We invite students involved in plasma research, in particular, students pursuing the Graduate Certificate in Plasma Science and Engineering, to present the results of their investigations, learn about the research of their fellow students, and network with MIPSE faculty and staff.
All MIPSE students are encouraged to participate in the Symposium. New graduate students are welcome to present their prior research. Undergraduate students are also welcome to participate. All student presentations will be considered for the Best Presentation Award.
The Symposium will feature a special MIPSE seminar by Prof. David Ruzic of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Prof. Ruzic is the winner of the 2024 UM Plasma Prize.

The symposium will start at 1:00 pm in the Lurie Engineering Center. Please arrive by 1:00 pm for registration and lunch, followed by a special MIPSE seminar. After the seminar, symposium participants will move to the EECS Building to set up posters. MIPSE will provide poster boards (40 x 60 inches) and pushpins. Please be at your poster for the majority of your session; there will be an opportunity to see other posters and interact with MIPSE faculty and students during two remaining sessions.
All student presentations will be considered for the Best Presentation Award. The award ceremony will be at 5:45 - 6:00 pm.
